By 5 noviembre, 2025Convocatorias

ADDRESSED TO PROFESSORS AND LECTURERS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE VISITING INTERNATIONAL PROFESSORS “GLOBAL SUMMER” PROGRAM AT UNIVERSIDAD DEL VALLE DE ATEMAJAC (UNIVA), MEXICO, IN ITS 2026 EDITION

Within the framework of its current International Development Plan, the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA), the Catholic University in Mexico, issues this call to professors and lecturers from international universities that hold a partnership with UNIVA, either by bilateral agreement or by common consortium membership, to participate in the 2026 edition of the Visiting International Professors Program «Global Summer 2026», which will be carried out in person,  during the month of July.

The Global Summer program is an initiative developed annually by UNIVA, and which promotes Internationalization at Home through the visit to Mexico of international professors from partner higher education institutions. Participating professors teach a course to regular UNIVA students at any of its campi in Mexico. In its past nine editions held to date, the Global Summer program has received the participation of 273 professors, from 76 partner universities, located in 21 countries. We are very happy to share with you that we have reached our 10th anniversary, and we invite you to celebrate this initiative with us, which impacts more than 75% of our student community!

For participating professors, the Global Summer program also offers the opportunity to meet peers from both UNIVA and other universities, opening the possibility for multiple academic collaborations in other scenarios, such as research and networking activities. Additionally, UNIVA will invite international professors to deliver academic talks and to participate in additional academic activities, as well as cultural programs, with the aim of enriching their personal and professional experience in their collaboration with Mexico.

HOW WILL THE 2026 GLOBAL SUMMER EDITION WORK?

The program will work with the participation of professors and lecturers in an in-person modality during the month of July 2026. In other words, professors from UNIVA’s partner international universities will teach an intensive, in-person class to our students at one of our UNIVA campus facilities, during the Summer 2026 semester (minimum 3 weeks, maximum 4 weeks, in July). In this case, the professors are not hired by UNIVA; rather, they participate as cooperating professors. UNIVA will, then, cover the expenses related to their academic participation in Mexico, considering the terms in this call.

The Global Summer program offers participating professors and lecturers the opportunity to meet their peers from UNIVA, as well as with organizations from different sectors, such as government, business, and society, depending on their interests. Furthermore, the program promotes the delivery of talks, interviews with the media, visits to companies and consortiums, among others, in order to enrich the academic and cultural experience of both the visiting professor and the students enrolled in the course, in addition to contributing to the richness and cultural interaction with our country. Cooperating professors are also invited to participate with UNIVA in some of the extra-class academic activities mentioned above.

The program invites professors and lecturers to participate in any of the five major disciplinary areas of the institution:

  1. Social Sciences and Humanities.
  2. Economic-Administrative Sciences and International Business.
  3. Exact Sciences and Engineering.
  4. Health Sciences.
  5. Communication, Languages, and Multimedia.

Each subject has a duration of 56 class hours, distributed in a stay of 3 to 4 weeks, teaching face-to-face lessons for an average of 3 hours per day, from Monday to Friday, at the time agreed with the corresponding academic area of UNIVA, prior to the start of the course. The class schedules may change in common agreement with the participating professors.
